About Casa Stacy
Our Philosophy
We were created on the philosophy that sheer beauty is never the sole value of anything and it is not enough to satisfy a curious traveler. That is why the Casa Stacy Team finds it important to share the numerous well known and obscure historical, cultural, scenic and gastronomic riches that create the beauty of our locations. To help you create an “extrasensory local experience”!
With the energy and enthusiasm of the many public institutions, operators, voluntary associations and the local residents … we share a common goal: To create a place where our dear guests can discover the entirety of local beauty and view all the events and activities during their stay.
It is about being informed of the secrets and planning some of those experiences while also leaving time for abandoned wandering and discovery.
Our Creation
Casa Stacy was created in 2012 on a whim, I was looking for a new place to live and saw three apartments in the main square of Varenna empty. Each apartment was too small for my living so I half-jokingly asked if I could rent the whole building and do a B&B — they said yes!
Completely astounded (and leaving for vacation the next day), I replied give me two weeks to think about it. Instead of frolicking on the Greek Isle beaches, I sat in Tavernas with Tzadziki, Ouzo, and my iPad doing a business plan and pricing furnishings.
I returned, said yes and immediately started implementing my plan, three weeks later Casa Stacy Opened to a full house on 14 June 2012. I was fortunate that Airbnb was new in Europe, it was an easy way to get off the ground.
This first year cemented my philosophy of ‘Extrasensory local experience” and the aesthetic. Now, Casa Stacy has expanded to include other locations, always with ready access to transport, fine dining, drinking, learning and seeing!
You can be assured that when you book a Casa Stacy you will always have the amenities you need: shampoo, hairdryer, soaps, kitchen basics (sugar, olive oil, etc, etc), coffee, tea and basic breakfast items to get you out the door.
We look forward to hosting you!
